Legend:
1) The configuration data is stored on the CPU or on the CP. This option can be
selected in the properties dialog of the CP (in “Replace Module without PG” in
the “Options” tab).

Recommendation for data storage
If you use the CP in a complex plant configuration, for example as PROFINET IO
controller with up to 128 IO devices, the configuration data will be correspondingly
extensive. In such cases, the time for the transfer of the configuration data from
the CPU to the CP may take several minutes.
In such case, you should weigh up the pros and cons of storing the data on the
CP.
