OSx feature that allows an operator to interact with the process. When a
pre-defined process event is triggered, an action request informs the
operator and requests a response. Action request icons appear at the lower
right of the screen.

other common characteristic. When an alarm occurs in the OSx system, the
group associated with that alarm is activated, and the system notifies the
OSx station of the alarm condition. Alarm groups allow an operator to
acknowledge alarms collectively rather than tag by tag.
Parameter in the Event Preferences dialog box that determines how often
OSx updates alarm summaries and alarm group displays.
OSx function that allows the controller to monitor process variables for limit
violations or device failures. The monitored results are placed in the status
attribute of the process I/O tag. If the process I/O tag is configured for
alarming, OSx will log and display the alarm condition.
The representation of a changing physical variable (temperature, for
example) by another physical variable (such as the height of a column of
mercury).
A historical or real-time plot of continuous (as opposed to digital) data
