A table consists of one or more rows and their related columns. A table is

the basic data access structure in a relational database management

system.

A tag represents a block of data pertaining to an instrument or device

associated with the plant process. Examples are LOOP, IVAR (integer

variable), and TIMER.

Any one of the fields in the Tag_Xref or Process I/O Table that is part of a

particular tag. Each tag type consists of a group of associated attributes,

such as name, status, value, range, tag type, and so forth.

Specifies the number of records allocated to store configuration data for

each tag type. You can modify this number in the Tag Capacity dialog box.

Standard display format that shows the current values for the tag

attributes in the Operate state. All tagsexceptrecipe area tags and

tags that represent system nodes have tag details. Tag details are

automatically created when tags are installed.

A display containing a collection of one to eight related tags which display

information about a process, arranged in blocks called faceplates.

A file used to install tags on an OSx system.

For an APT-generated program to work in OSx, APT tags must be

translated. During the compile process, APT creates a file called

install.tag

that can be transferred to an OSx station.

Table in the OSx database that contains information that identifies all

tags, giving such information as tag type and user-assigned name and

description. It contains a cross-reference key into the Process I/O tables.

Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol. Family of networking

protocols that allows file and data transfer between OSx stations and

between an OSx station and a management information service computer.

The protocol locates stations through their respective ethernet addresses.

A DDO that is an ASCII text viewer/editor.

A logical unit of work that consists of one or more database changes.

In the OSx Merge Utility, the act of sending configurations from a source

OSx system to a destination OSx system.
