2.2 Installing the JRE for Linux Clients

Go to http://www.java.com/en/download/linux_manual.jsp

There are two types of installation packages:

• Linux RPM package

• Linux self extracting binary file.

 Download the package that best suits your needs. Follow the instructions outlined

on the web site.

 To test that the JRE is installed, enabled and working properly on your computer,

run the test applet from the following web site:

http://www.java.com/en/download/installed.jsp
