What's New in This Guide
Describes features available with OSM Service Connection version T0682 H02 ADL, including:
• Support/requirement for Java 7. For configuration steps necessary to use OSM with Java 7,
see Launching an OSM Service Connection and Enabling Java Next Generation Plug-in to
Avoid OSM Memory Errors.
Java 7 also requires Windows Server 2003 Hotfixes in order to use OSM T0682 H02 ADL
(and later) on Windows Server 2003. Those Hotfixes are available on NonStop System
Console Installer DVD, Update 22 (and later). For information on installing those Windows
Server 2003 Hotfixes, see the NonStop System Console Installer Guide.
The OSM Configuration Guide contains a troubleshooting tip for configuring Java 7 to avoid
long delays in logging on to the OSM Service Connection on a private network.
• Support for Internet Explorer (IE) 9.0 (on Windows Server 2008) as well as support for using
Internet Explorer 10.0 in compatibility mode only. For information on configuring IE to use
either of those versions for OSM, see the OSM Configuration Guide.
• Default OSM certificates are now signed with SHA256 instead of SHA1. The SSL cipher suites
for OSM Service Connection and Event Viewer include more advanced ciphers. For more
information, see the OSM Configuration Guide.
• A new Set UID LED State action on the CLIM object to aid in the physical identification of a
CLIM.
• Support for LTO-6 tape drives.
• The ability to specify a Rack Location value to help differentiate between the various racks
displayed in the Physical Configuration Tool.
